The College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking a position at rank of Assistant or Associate Professor.
Responsibilities will include service to the Michigan swine industry through extension and research activities aimed at improving swine health and productivity. The specialist will organize, conduct and evaluate extension education programming for swine producers, establish strong professional relationships with allied agencies/firms and actively participate in regional and national professional organizations. The individual will be expected to effectively communicate pertinent scientific information to producers, regulatory officials, and other related clientele. Specific areas of focus may include, but are not be limited to, PRRS, circovirus, respiratory disease, emerging diseases, disease monitoring and eradication programs, biosecurity, emergency disease response program planning and implementation, and pre-harvest food safety. There is an expectation to develop extramural support for delivering extension programs and to develop or integrate into research projects that are extramurally funded.

Job requirement
DVM
Eligibility for a Michigan Veterinary License
Preferences:
Post DVM graduate training and/or degree (MS or PhD)
Board certification in a relevant specialty board (e.g. American Board of Veterinary Practitioners, American College of Veterinary Preventive Medicine).
