Provide technical support for Processed Meats related projects directed from Corporate R&D as well as in-plant operations personnel.
Maintain and update all Processed Meats specification books as needed. This includes all supplemental items such as pickle formulation books and challenge/mixer added ingredient sheets as well.
Work closely with corporate office, vendors and customers on various improvement projects.
Routinely write test protocols for wide variety of in-plant and corporate directed tests. Follow tests through and gather all information to be reviewed by many levels of management.
Assist in managing ham processing for a major customer through gathering and maintaining quality data (such as defect and weight information), reporting data to the customer during rush periods and managing and scheduling off season testing.
Maximize quality and minimize defects through close monitoring of the processing progression.

Bachelor’s degree in business, food manufacturing or quality related field (such as Business Administration, Operations Management, Chemistry or Meat Science) or equivalent experience or active duty service in a related field is required to be considered for this position.
Exposure to or a working knowledge of three or more of the following areas:

Quality Control or Assurance
Production flow and planning in the manufacturing industry
Product specifications
Product design and development
Ham processing
Processed Meats manufacturing
Food Safety, SQF, and GMP’s
Lean Manufacturing concepts

Advanced Microsoft Office computer skills; experience with SAP is preferred.
Ability to maintain confidential or proprietary information.
