Nursery-Finishing Manager

About this Job:

The Nursery-Finishing Manager will take a hands-on approach to overseeing 5-6 employees caring for 22,500 pigs placed in nursery and finishing barns on multiple sites near Sycamore, Kansas. Job duties will include but are not limited to:
• Provide leadership and supervision for employees including the enforcement of employee policies
• Oversee farm biosecurity, herd health and building sanitation
• Monitor building ventilation and environment
• Monitor feeder and water adjustments
• Work directly with feed mill operator to schedule feed deliveries
• Oversee and assist with pig movements and marketing
• Compile accurate production records
• Perform basic facility maintenance
• Report directly to farm owner/manager and attend weekly manager’s meeting
• 50-55 hours/week work schedule including a weekend rotation

Compensation:
SFF will offer a competitive salary based on the candidate’s skill level and swine production experience. Benefits include on farm housing, health insurance, accident insurance, retirement, and earned time off. Employees are required to work 40 hours/week to receive the health insurance benefit and 50 hours/week to receive housing and other benefits.

Requirement:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 3 years experience in swine production or a college agricultural degree related to animal science
• Leadership and organizational skills
• Basic facility maintenance skills
• Valid driver’s license
