Challenges:

As a critical leader to our transportation team, one must use their skills, experience, and talents to oversee all functional areas of the department and to lead and develop departmental supervisors and employees.
Establish an understanding of the business and use that knowledge to positively influence business leaders and the transportation team through continuous process improvements.
Direct and coordinate activities between the transportation department and other relevant internal business partners.
Management of both operational and financial performance within the transportation department.
Drive improvements to reporting processes and produce insightful and strategic analyses to facilitate quality decision-making.

Major areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:
• Development and direction of logistic team and Live Haul Transportation Manager
• Become proficient in bio-security practices and implement effective decisions based on those practices
• Manage effective communications between independent contractors, growers, production team, and all other relevant internal business partners
• Drive efficiency and a proactive approach to process improvements in our logistics and transportation functions
•Manage transportation costs by continuously evaluating competitive rate structures and making adjustments as necessary

Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of related experience ideally in a transportation role with an agri-business related company.
Expereince working wtih multiple sites in multiple states is ideal.
Must be abel to beTQA and FMCSA certified.
Strong track record of success with process improvements
Strong systems background and ability to negotiate with contract carriers.
Strong PC skills are required with experience in transportation scheduling software.
Must have strong leadership skills, ability to effectively implement process improvements, and provide quality results.
