Breeding Manager wanted for a 5200 breed to wean operation in Southern Illinois. This job description describes the most common tasks in the operation. You may not need to have any or all of the skills and experience when hired. The company will train in order to fulfill all of the described tasks.

Working individually and with others in a team environment.

Possess animal husbandry skills.

Feed animals according to established feeding program. Check animal’s health and provide

appropriate medication and health care where needed.

Present boar exposure to gilts and identify and record their estrus cycles.

Heat checking, artificial insemination and pregnancy checking. Record all breeding records.

Managing pig flow and hitting breed targets each week.

Assist in identifying and shipping cull animals.

Assist in minor repair and maintenance jobs.

The applicant needs to have a keen interest in working in the swine sector with a specific focus on high production performance and being able to do so as part of a team.  12 years of education is a requirement and any knowledge of Spanish helps tremendously
